GRAVEL OR SHALE DRIVEWAYS

Gravel or shale driveways are popular in rural areas and on long driveways. Gravel and shale is inexpensive and attractive and with regular maintenance, a gravel driveway can last for decades. Gravel or shale can be topped up and replenished over the years.

Gravel and shale aggregates are available in a variety of colours and sizes and have a variety of uses – whether it is to give a new look to an existing driveway, path or patio or to enhance the appearance of a flowerbed or border.

TYPES OF GRAVEL:

If you decide to choose a gravel or shale driveway, there are several types to consider, including:

CRUSHED STONE

Crushed stone gravel is a common surfacing gravel for driveways as it is a cheap option. The stones are available in mixed colours or one plain colour. Crushed stone can be used as a top layer or sub-base layer of a driveway to increase durability.

PEA GRAVEL
